Job summary

Today's Vision in Houston, TX is seeking a Head Optician to lead optical operations in a dynamic retail setting. This full-time, on-site role drives lens selection, fittings, dispensing, and frame inventory while delivering exceptional patient experiences.

You will collaborate with optometrists, educate patients on lens options, manage adjustments and repairs, and coach optical staff. The ideal candidate has strong optics knowledge, prior supervisory experience, ABO/NCLE certification or state

Qualifications

• Strong optics knowledge and ability to interpret prescriptions.
• Focus on customer satisfaction and clear communication.
• Experience supporting eye exams and collaborating with optometrists.
• Leadership or supervisory experience in optical settings.
• Attention to detail and manual dexterity for fittings and adjustments.
• High school diploma or equivalent; ABO/NCLE certification or state licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead optical operations and supervise staff to ensure quality.
• Guide lens selection, fitting and dispensing processes.
• Maintain frame inventory and uphold safety/quality standards.
• Collaborate with optometrists to support prescriptions and patient education.
• Address adjustments, repairs, and follow-up services.
