Job summary

Walman Optical, a division of EssilorLuxottica, is seeking an Associate Technician for the optical lab. The role covers set-up, operation, and basic maintenance of production equipment in the surface/finish areas.

You will handle Rx interpretation, calibrations, and routine troubleshooting to keep production on schedule. The position emphasizes safe handling of hazardous materials, attention to detail, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to multi-task, orientation to detail and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic high school level math skills required.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Interpret Rx work tickets and operate production equipment per procedures.
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment.
• Prepare solutions or slurries for lens production and ensure supplies are available.
• Calibrate equipment daily/weekly as directed by supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety rules.
• Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff when needed.
• Assist team to meet production deadlines.
