Job summary

Walman Optical, part of EssilorLuxottica, seeks a Production Technician to set up, operate, and maintain equipment in the surface or finish areas of the optical lab. This is a full-time on-site role at Store # WM0134 Optical Surfacing BPARK, focused on quality, safety, and steady production flow.

You will interpret Rx work tickets, perform calibration and routine maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and manage supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of laboratory work experience
• Ability to multi-task, orient to detail and operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic high school level math skills required.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision and color vision

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of laboratory production within the assigned area.
• Proper, efficient, and productive use of Lensometer instrument for purposes of lens product inspection.
• Ability to perform equipment maintenance including wheel & motor/spindle change.
• Interpret Special Rx's with supervisor assistance.
• Translate Rx requirement into finished product commensurate with production area.
• Assist supervisor in maintaining shop supply inventories.
• Troubleshoot production problems and advise supervisor on solutions.
• Prepare all solutions for the wash process and stock daily supplies.
• Interpret Rx work tickets and perform production operations on specified equipment.
• Perform basic/routine maintenance of assigned equipment.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and advise supervisor on remedies.
• Produce lens wash & surface/cosmetic inspection; tool cutting and replacement.
• Set up equipment for daily production and calibrate regularly with logs
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure compliance with policies and safety rules.
