Job summary

Walmart is seeking an Optical Associate (Non-Certified) at Sam’s Club in Joplin, MO. The role includes stocking and organizing the Optical area, processing purchases, and educating members on eyewear usage, with opportunities to assist in lens/frame adjustments and order fulfillment.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, begin ABO certification within 15 months, and pursue state licensure within 18 months as applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon job entry or within 12 months of hire to sit for ABO exam.
• Must obtain ABO certification within 15 months of hire or job entry.
• Must satisfy state licensure requirements to become an apprentice or licensed optician within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and stocks the Optical area, prices merchandise, processes member purchases and returns.
• Educates members on eyewear usage, assists with frame/lens adjustments, and completes eyewear orders.
• Conducts pre-testing, records results, and coordinates with labs/optometrists for status updates.
• Delivers customer service, processes payments, and supports OD services as guided.
