Job summary

Walmart's Sam's Club in Mobile, AL is seeking an Optical Associate to maintain the Optical area, stock merchandise, and assist members with eyewear purchases and repairs.

You will measure pupillary distance, process orders, handle payments through the POS, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and store policies. ABO certification must be obtained within 15 months of hire, with licensure timelines as required by state law.

Qualifications

• Must obtain ABO certification within 15 months of hire.
• Must progress to apprentice/ licensed optician per state rules within 18 months.
• Must complete state-required licensure within the specified timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Optical area by stocking, signing, pricing, and organizing merchandise.
• Assist members with eyewear purchases, measurements, and frame/lens adjustments.
• Process orders and payments through the POS, including insurance claims when applicable.
• Educate members on eyewear usage, care, and contact lens guidance.
