Job summary

XPO is seeking an Operations Management Trainee for a 12-month rotational program designed for candidates with limited or no LTL or transportation operations experience. The program develops leadership across field operations, linehaul, maintenance, and support functions.

Starting 1/11/2027, participants complete CDL and forklift certifications, earn a competitive salary of $63,000, and can transition to Freight Operations Supervisors within their region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent military experience
• High level of stamina, adaptability and grit; you’ll be challenged daily and step into leadership situations
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Willing to relocate within region upon successful completion of the program
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business or related field (preferred)
• Demonstrated leadership through internships, academic projects, athletics or work experience
• Experience working on a dock or field operations environment
• Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Work long, active days on the dock with frontline teams
• Participate in a 12-month rotational program across field operations, linehaul, maintenance, and support functions
• Join CDL school and forklift certification during the program
• Learn and perform foundational duties of each rotation
• Complete leadership training to prepare for frontline leadership
• Collaborate with supervisors, dockworkers and field leaders for hands-on experience
• Maintain regular communication with program manager and mentor
• Aim to meet weekly goals, objectives and milestones
• Take initiative to learn XPO operations through resources and hands-on work
