Job summary

XPO is seeking an Operations Management Trainee in the United States for a structured 12-month rotational program designed to build frontline leadership in dock and field operations. You will rotate through field operations, linehaul, maintenance and support functions while earning CDL and forklift certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent military experience.
• High level of stamina, adaptability and grit – you'll be challenged daily, balancing operational demands and leadership tasks.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Willing to relocate within region upon successful completion of the program.
• Preferred qualifications include a degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business or related field.
• Demonstrated leadership through internships, academic projects, athletics or work experience.
• Experience working on a dock or field operations environment.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Spend long, active days on the dock, working with frontline teams in a demanding environment.
• Participate in a 12-month rotational program across field operations, linehaul, maintenance and support functions.
• Join CDL school and forklift certification during the program.
• Learn and perform the core functions and responsibilities of each rotation.
• Complete leadership training at key points to prepare for frontline leadership on the dock.
• Work alongside freight operations supervisors, dockworkers and field leaders for hands-on experience.
• Communicate regularly with the program manager, reporting manager and mentor.
• Meet weekly goals and milestones for learning objectives.
• Take initiative to learn XPO operations through online resources and hands-on experience.
