Family Eye Physicians is seeking a detail-oriented Materials Manager to oversee procurement, inventory, and distribution of ophthalmology materials across our Oak Lawn and Oak Brook operations in Illinois. The role focuses on ensuring timely availability of supplies and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards.

The ideal candidate will manage supplier relationships, budgets, and audits while collaborating with surgeons, clinicians, and administrative staff to support optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Materials Manager in healthcare or surgical center preferred.
• Knowledge of ophthalmology surgical supplies and clinical materials is highly preferred.
• Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
• Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement and inventory of ophthalmology supplies, medical equipment, and clinic materials.
• Coordinate with surgeons, clinical staff, and vendors to ensure timely materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to prevent shortages or overstock.
• Develop and implement inventory control procedures to optimize cost efficiency and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with the finance department to manage budgets related to materials and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards related to material handling and storage.
• Train and supervise materials staff as needed.
• Evaluate and establish relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
