Job summary

EyeSouth Partners’ Clavenna Vision Institute in Birmingham, MI is seeking a PRN Front Desk Associate to greet patients, manage check-ins, answer calls, schedule appointments, collect payments, and maintain accurate data in the practice management system.

You will uphold HIPAA protections, verify insurance and benefits, communicate with patients about costs, and support the front desk team with timely task completion and friendly, professional service.

Qualifications

• Greet patients warmly and verify appointment details.
• Collect IDs, insurance cards, referral forms, etc.
• Book, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
• Verify insurance eligibility and coverage for visits/procedures/tests.
• Collect co-pays/balances; document financials in system.
• Explain billing procedures clearly.
• Enter data accurately in the practice management system.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and respond to inquiries.
• Relay messages between patients and clinical staff.
• Maintain HIPPA/PHI compliance and protect patient information.
• Handle paperwork like consent forms and HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming reception area for patients.
• Assist with on-boarding of new front desk staff as needed.
• Participate in daily huddles and team meetings.
