Job summary

Midwest Vision Partners, LLC is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support clinical operations. You will greet patients, escort them to exam rooms, and perform diagnostic ophthalmic tests prior to physician assessment.

Responsibilities include accurate EMR documentation, assisting with minor procedures, educating patients on medications, and maintaining patient confidentiality in line with HIPAA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and explain what to expect during their appointment.
• Escort patients to an exam room and perform diagnostic ophthalmic tests.
• Perform tests such as visual acuity, tonometry and lensometry prior to physician assessment.
• Accurately document patient information in EMR per standards and HIPAA.
• Assist with minor surgical procedures, intraocular injections and laser treatments as needed.
• Educate patients on medications and pre/post-operative care per physician instructions.
• Readily scribe for physicians and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Stay current with eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms and ocular medications.
