Job summary

Midwest Vision Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our clinic team. You will greet patients, perform diagnostic tests (visual acuity, tonometry, lensometry), and enter results into EMR prior to physician assessment.

You will assist with minor procedures, educate patients on medications and pre/postoperative instructions, and ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of records while keeping the clinic organized and patient-centered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and explain what to expect during their appointment.
• Perform diagnostic tests including visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry before physician review.
• Enter patient data into EMR accurately and maintain medical records.
• Assist with minor procedures, injections, and laser treatments in exam/treatment rooms.
• Educate patients on medications and pre/postoperative instructions.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and secure patient information.
• De-escalate dissatisfied patients and support the care team.
