Job summary

Midwest Vision Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our clinic team. You will greet patients, explain visit expectations, and escort them to exam rooms while performing diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry and lensometry before the physician sees them.

You will document chief complaints and medical history in the EMR, maintain patient records, and assist with minor procedures and injections. HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and explain what they should expect during their appointment.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and perform diagnostic tests prior to physician evaluation (vision acuity, tonometry, lensometry).
• Document chief complaints, medical history and visit details in EMR.
• Maintain clean, sterile clinical environment and assist with minor procedures and injections.
• Educate patients on medication administration and pre/post operative instructions.
• Protect patient information and ensure HIPAA compliance.
