Family Healthcare is seeking an Optometry Technician to support optometrists with advanced pre-testing, examinations, and precise clinical documentation. The role emphasizes patient care, teamwork, and accurate billing documentation in a high-volume ophthalmic setting.

The ideal candidate will assist during exams, manage diagnostic equipment, and ensure HIPAA compliance while coordinating with staff for referrals and insurance needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPOT/CPO certification preferred.
• Strong clinical documentation and computer skills.
• Experience in optometry/ophthalmology setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain detailed medical/ocular histories.
• Perform pre-testing: visual acuity, refraction assistance, tonometry, OCT.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist during procedures.
• Document findings accurately in EHR.
• Educate patients on conditions and treatments.
• Coordinate with billing for insurance and billing details.
