Job summary

LensCrafters seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to deliver high-quality eye care and a seamless patient experience. You will support doctors, manage records, and assist with exams and tests while upholding HIPAA standards.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. Weekend/evening shifts may be required, with opportunities for benefits.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1+ year of strong customer service skills.
• Strong communicator and listener.
• Problem solving ability and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use exam software, POS technology and ophthalmic equipment.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow throughout the exam.
• Performs preliminary evaluations including obtaining patient histories, reviewing medications, visual acuities, and tonometry.
• Performs special testing including OCTs, biometry, topography, and retinal imaging/photography.
• Explains measurements and answers patient questions; maintains HIPAA-compliant records.
• Maintains equipment and exam lanes; ensures safety for staff and patients.
• Works weekends and evenings as needed to support business needs.
