Job summary

LensCrafters is seeking an Optometric Technician to ensure patients receive high-quality optometric care while guiding them through eye exams. You will link the doctor and staff to deliver an unsurpassed patient experience and manage records efficiently.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, 2+ years in optometry or healthcare, and knowledge of optical testing. Weekend/evening shifts may be required; HIPAA compliant workflows are essential.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding and utilization of optical equipment and diagnostic testing (pre-exam testing, pretesting, visual acuity, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow throughout the exam.
• Performs tests to aid the optometrist with vision examinations including visual acuity, depth and color perception, and retinal imaging.
• Supports contact lens exams and orders, including care, trial inventory and patient orders.
• Operates the point-of-sale system and processes sales transactions following procedures.
• Maintains a safe, organized work environment and HIPAA-compliant record handling.
• Works weekends and evenings as needed to support business needs.
