Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of strong customer service skills (internal/external).
  • Strong communicator and listener.
  • Problem solving ability.

  • Ability to assess priorities, address multiple tasks and deadlines in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use exam software, point-of-sale technology and ophthalmic equipment.
  • Ability to work autonomously.

  • Strong basic math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow throughout the exam.
  • Performs preliminary evaluations including patient histories, medication reviews, visual acuities, and evaluations.
  • Performs special testing including OCTs, biometry, topography, and retinal imaging/photography.
  • Performs all pre-examination testing with accuracy and explains measurements to patients.
  • Identifies dissatisfied patients and acts quickly for resolution.
  • Works efficiently under time pressure and patient volume.
  • Handles and files patient records per HIPAA and practice standards.
  • Utilizes appointment book and computer procedures for scheduling.
  • Maintains a safe environment for team and patients.
  • Adapts to examination scenarios and remains personable with patients and staff.
  • Maintains and disinfects equipment and exam lanes.
  • Works weekends and evenings as needed by location.
  • Adheres to attendance, timekeeping, company policies, dress code, and responsibilities.
