Job summary

Associated Retinal Consultants in Livonia, MI is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe / Technician to support physicians in a fast-paced clinic. You will perform preliminary work-ups, scribe for examinations, assist with minor procedures and manage patient records.

Requires ophthalmic terminology knowledge, EMR proficiency, and accuracy in data entry. Certification as OSC or COA/COT preferred; ophthalmology experience is a plus, with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Familiar with retina terminology and ophthalmic procedures.
• Strong typing speed and accuracy in EMR data entry.
• Ability to learn medical terminology and coding basics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with patients and staff.
• Demonstrated teamwork and customer service in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Functions as Scribe, understanding retina ophthalmology terminology.
• Prepare patients and rooms for treatments and minor procedures as directed by the Physician.
• Obtain patient medical and ophthalmic history, medications, allergies, family history.
• Identify patient concerns and report to Office Coordinator or Physician as appropriate.
• Measure distance and near visual acuity; perform preliminary refraction where needed.
