Job summary

Associated Retinal Consultants seeks an Ophthalmic Scribe / Technician to assist physicians in a fast-paced ophthalmology clinic. You will participate in preliminary patient workups, scribe examinations, and support treatments under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms, documenting medical histories, and measuring vision and pressures. Certification in OSC or COA/COT is preferred, with EMR and MS Office skills essential. This role may involve travel to other locations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of retina-specific ophthalmology terminology.
• Ability to type accurately and quickly in EMR.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records systems.
• Strong attention to detail in a clinical setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Scribe for Physicians and assist with examinations and treatments as directed.
• Prepare patients and rooms for procedures.
• Record patient history, medications, allergies, and family history.
• Identify concerns and communicate with Office Coordinator or Physician.
• Measure visual acuity and perform preliminary refraction.
• Record intraocular pressures and pupillary responses.
• Conduct basic visual field testing and patient education.
• Assist with treatments and minor procedures, document vitals.
• Complete Ophthalmic Scribe Certification and use EMR per guidelines.
• Assist with patient transfers and travel to other locations as needed.
• Perform clerical tasks such as scheduling and filing as required.
