Job summary

Associated Retinal Consultants in Royal Oak, MI is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe / Technician to perform preliminary patient workups, scribe for Physicians, and assist with examinations. Training provided; OSC/COA/COT preferred.

You will work in the Ophthalmology department, handle EMR, ophthalmic terminology, and basic clerical tasks, with opportunities to travel to other locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of retina-specific ophthalmology terminology and EMR data entry.
• Excellent keyboarding and data-entry accuracy.
• Strong communication skills and patient service orientation.
• Attention to detail with accurate charting and coding.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced ophthalmology clinic.

Responsibilities

• Scribe for physicians and may assist with examinations and treatments.
• Prepare patients and rooms for procedures and ensure supplies are stocked.
• Record medical history, medications, allergies, and ocular data.
• Perform basic vision tests and intraocular pressure measurements as trained.
• Maintain EMR entries and accurate procedure codes; assist with orders.
