Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Back Office Technician in Torrance, CA to support patient care and eye-care procedures in a clinical setting. You will prepare patients, perform refractions and VA/IOP tests, and assist ophthalmic clinicians.

The role involves documenting examinations, maintaining exam rooms, and using CareCoud/EMR. Some travel to other clinics is required. Prior ophthalmic experience is preferred, with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School education, GED or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
• Ability to travel to other clinics as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for treatment and assist doctors.
• Perform refractions and VA assessments.
• Conduct IOP tests, fundus photos, and visual field tests.
• Administer ophthalmic meds and maintain sterile exam rooms.
• Document ocular examinations and patient education.
• Maintain CareCoud/EMR records and patient flow.
• Travel between clinics as needed.
