Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician for a clinic role. You will greet patients, escort them to exam rooms, and perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry.

You will document information in the EMR and help maintain a clean, organized clinic environment. You will assist with minor procedures, educate patients on medications and pre/postoperative instructions, and ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and explain visit expectations.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and perform diagnostic tests (visual acuity, tonometry, lensometry).
• Document patient information in EMR per standards.
• Maintain clinic cleanliness and sterilize equipment and rooms.
• Assist with minor procedures and intraocular injections.
• Educate patients on medication administration and pre/postoperative care.
