Job summary

Acuity Eye Group is seeking a Back Office Technician to support patient care in ophthalmology clinics. You will prepare patients for examination, assist doctors, and perform a range of optical and office duties while maintaining high quality standards.

Responsibilities include collecting patient histories, obtaining consents, performing refractions and basic eye tests, documenting findings in CareCoud/EMR, and helping maintain clean, organized exam rooms while ensuring compliance with health

Qualifications

• High School education, GED or equivalent. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance. Ability to travel to other clinics as assigned.
• Desirable experience in the Ophthalmic or Optometric Industry and as a Back Office Technician.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examination and assists doctors, ensuring a positive and professional environment.
• Collects and documents the patient’s chief complaint and ocular/medical history; notes medications.
• Obtains consents, verifies readings and ensures patients sign forms as required.
• Performs refractions, Visual Acuity, IOP tests, takes Fundus photos, and conducts Visual Field tests.
• Performs Fluorescein Angiogram and Indocyanine Green Angiography procedures.
• Administers topical ophthalmic and dilation medications; maintains clean, sterile exam rooms.
• Provides patient education materials and ensures patient understands instructions.
• Documents ocular examinations and manages patient flow in CareCoud/EMR.
• May drive patients in company-provided vehicle; adheres to policies and regulatory standards.
• Maintains professional appearance and communicates progress to supervisor; adheres to OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, etc.
