Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service and establishes rapport with patients.
• Takes thorough case history documenting background medical and ocular conditions.
• Captures intraocular pressure measurements and records data.
• Records patient visual acuities using Snellen, Lea, and HOTV methods.
• Uses auto-refractor and inputs data into the EHR system.
• Uses a lensometer to measure prescriptions and inputs data into the EHR system.
• Applies dilation drops as directed by the clinician.
• Assists optometrist/ophthalmologist with patient care.
• Maintains documentation in patient medical records (paper or EMR).
• Maintains sterilization and cleaning techniques for rooms and instruments.
• Ensures exam rooms are stocked with supplies and instruments.
• Provides translation services as needed and explains care instructions.
