Job summary

Acuity Eye Group is seeking a Back Office Technician to support patient care, office operations, and laboratory duties in a fast-paced optometry environment. You will prepare patients for examinations, document medical history, perform refractions and basic visual tests, assist doctors, and maintain clean, organized exam rooms across multiple clinics with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School education, GED or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License and automobile insurance.
  • Ability to travel to other clinics as assigned.
  • Experience in Ophthalmic or Optometric Industry (desirable).
  • Experience as a Back Office Technician (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination and assist doctors.
  • Collect and document patient chief complaint.
  • Verify ocular and medical history and medications.
  • Obtain consents and ensure patient reads and signs.
  • Perform refractions and basic Visual Acuity assessments.
  • Conduct IOP tests with Tonopen.
  • Take Fundus photos and perform Visual Field tests.
  • Administer topical medications and dilation as needed.
  • Maintain clean, sterile exam rooms and proper documentation.
