Job summary

Acuity Eye Group seeks a Back Office Technician to support patient care, office, and lab duties in our ophthalmology clinics. You will prepare patients for exams, assist physicians, document histories, and perform essential testing such as refractions, VA, IOP, and imaging while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant exam environment.

Qualified candidates have a High School diploma or GED and may hold ophthalmic certifications; travel between clinics may be required.

Qualifications

  • High School education, GED or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
  • Ability to travel to other clinics as assigned.
  • Experience in Ophthalmic or Optometric Industry preferred.
  • Experience as Back Office Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for examination and assists doctors.
  • Collects and documents patient chief complaint.
  • Verifies ocular and medical history; documents medications.
  • Obtains consents from patients and ensures they are signed.
  • Performs refractions and basic VA assessments.
  • Performs IOP tests and takes Fundus photos.
  • Conducts Visual Field tests and FA/ICG procedures.
  • Administers topical meds and dilation as needed.
  • Maintains clean, stocked exam rooms; provides patient education.
  • Documents examinations accurately and manages patient flow.
