Job summary

Surgery Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant at Key-Whitman Eye Center, Central Point ASC. You will work with physicians and clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ophthalmology setting.

Responsibilities include documenting patient histories, performing diagnostic testing, assisting with procedures, and educating patients on post-operative care. The role requires strong communication, accuracy, and familiarity with EMR systems; prior ophthalmic or scribe

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in medical/ophthalmic assistant or scribe role preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and general computer applications.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient histories.
• Perform lensometry and visual acuity testing.
• Conduct ophthalmic diagnostic testing (HVF, HRT, IOLMaster, etc.).
• Perform functional ocular measurements (color vision, BAT, Schirmer, Amsler grid).
• Document findings in the EMR and communicate with physicians.
• Administer topical ophthalmic medications as directed.
• Maintain and sterilize instruments and assist with procedures.
• Provide clear post-operative instructions to patients.
