Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to work closely with clinic physicians to perform basic, advanced, and complex eye care tasks, document patient records, and input treatment suggestions as part of a dedicated ophthalmology team.

The role involves obtaining patient history, lensometry, visual field tests, IOLMaster, refractometry, and medication administration, plus maintaining sterile conditions and assisting with procedures at the Key-Whitman Eye Center.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year ophthalmic scribe experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Some college coursework or Associate's degree preferred.
• JCAHPO certification preferred.
• CPR preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Obtain accurate patient history.
• Perform lensometry and diagnostic eye tests.
• Record patient data and input treatment notes.
• Assist physicians with procedures.
• Administer topical ophthalmic medications.
• Perform tonometry and basic ocular measurements.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain operating area.
• Explain post-operative instructions to patients.
