Key-Whitman Eye Center in Oregon is seeking an ASC Ophthalmic Assistant to support the surgical team. The role involves assisting in instrument preparation, patient transport within the surgical area, and maintaining sterile technique while supporting the overall efficiency of the ophthalmic center.

Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of medical assisting experience, HS diploma or GED, and familiarity with EMR systems.

Formación

• Minimum 1 year medical assistant experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• BCLS certification preferred.
• HIPAA knowledge and compliance.
• Proficiency in EMR and computer literacy.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in the order and cleanliness of the surgery center environment, supplies and instruments.
• Assist in the transportation of patients to and from the surgical suite.
• Prepares for surgical cases by providing the proper instrumentation, supplies, and equipment.
• May assist in assessing, ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies.
• Provides necessary material, supplies, instruments and equipment in good working order for the completion of the surgical procedure.
• Disposing of trash and linens, and cleaning of equipment and environmental surfaces.
• Understanding basic ocular pharmacology; names of meds and their uses.
• Follows sterile technique protocols when appropriate.
• Other duties assigned.
