Key-Whitman Eye Center is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to work closely with physicians and clinical staff in a fast-paced ophthalmology practice. The role involves taking patient histories, performing diagnostic testing, documenting findings in the EMR, assisting with procedures, and providing clear post-operative instructions to patients.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of ophthalmic experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with EMR systems.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of medical/ophthalmic assistant experience preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and general computer applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and ethical patient care practices.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Obtain and document accurate patient medical histories.
• Perform lensometry and visual acuity testing.
• Conduct ophthalmic diagnostic testing (HVF, HRT, IOLMaster, etc.).
• Perform functional ocular measurements (color vision, BAT, Schirmer, Amsler).
• Conduct refractometry and administer topical ophthalmic medications.
• Assist with ophthalmic procedures and post-operative instructions.
• Maintain and sterilize instruments; document findings in EMR.
• Ensure patient experience with professional communication and care.
