Job summary

Key Whitman Eye Center in Mesquite, TX is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to work closely with physicians to document medical records and input treatment plans. The role includes performing lensometry, basic and advanced eye testing, and assisting with procedures in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of Medical/Ophthalmic Scribe experience preferred, and CPR/HIPAA knowledge.

Qualifications

• 1 year medical/ophthalmic scribe experience preferred.
• CPR preferred.
• HIPAA knowledge and compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain accurate patient history.
• Perform lensometry and basic ophthalmic testing.
• Conduct diagnostic tests (HVF, HRT, IOLMaster, biopen, fundus photography).
• Measure visual acuity with basic optics understanding.
• Perform titration of refractive measurements.
• Administer topical ophthalmic medications.
• Assist physicians with procedures and post-operative instructions.
• Maintain sterile surgical instruments and equipment.
• Demonstrate strong communication with patients and staff.
