Job summary

Key Whitman Eye Center in Fort Worth seeks an Ophthalmic Assistant to support physicians and perform diagnostic tests, record patient histories, and assist with procedures in a fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities include lensometry, tonometry, ophthalmic testing, medication administration, and timely patient communication; a high school diploma and EMR proficiency are required or preferred, with JCAHPO and CPR credentials desirable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• JCAHPO certification preferred and CPR certification preferred.
• EMR proficiency and basic ophthalmic knowledge required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities

• Obtains accurate patient history.
• Performs lensometry and basic to advanced ophthalmic testing.
• Assists physicians with examinations and documentation.
• Administers topical ophthalmic medications and performs tonometry.
• Maintains equipment and EMR documentation with HIPAA compliance.
• Communicates post-operative instructions clearly to patients.
