Job summary

Key Whitman Eye Center in Dallas, TX is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to work closely with clinic physicians, document patient records, and input treatment plans.

Responsibilities include lensometry, diagnostic testing (HVF, HRT, IOLmaster), tonometry, refractometry, topical meds, and post‑operative instructions to patients. Strong communication, EMR proficiency, and a willingness to learn are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year ophthalmic/medical scribe experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• JCAHPO certification and CPR are a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain accurate patient history and document records.
• Perform lensometry and basic/advanced ophthalmic testing.
• Input treatment plans and post‑operative instructions.
• Administer topical ophthalmic medications.
• Conduct tonometry and refractometry as directed.
• Assist physicians and maintain sterile instruments.
