Job summary

Key Whitman Eye Center in Dallas, TX is hiring an Ophthalmic Assistant to work closely with physicians, document patient records, and assist with a range of eye care procedures. Candidates should have strong communication, team spirit, and attention to detail, with ophthalmic or scribe experience preferred.

Responsibilities include history taking, lensometry, basic diagnostic testing, and patient education. EMR proficiency and HIPAA compliance are essential; bilingual skills are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required as a baseline.
• Minimum 1 year of Medical/Ophthalmic Scribe experience preferred.
• JCAHPO certification preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Proficiency in EMR and computer literacy required.
• Bilingual abilities highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Obtain accurate patient history.
• Perform lensometry and basic diagnostic testing.
• Document patient records and input treatment plans.
• Assist physicians and administer topical ophthalmic medications.
• Perform tonometry and basic ocular tests.
• Maintain and sterilize instruments and assist with procedures.
• Communicate post-operative instructions clearly to patients.
• Uphold HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
