The ideal candidate has HS diploma (GED) with 0–2 years of ophthalmic assistant experience; travel to other Prism Vision Group locations may be required.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 0–2 years ophthalmic assistant experience; 2+ years OAII experience referenced in role.
  • Onsite role with exposure to occasional travel between Prism Vision Group locations.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient charts to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
  • Takes ocular and systemic history and records visual acuity.
  • Performs testing: OCT, automated visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry.
  • Performs lensometry, slit lamp exam and tonometry, basic muscle balance testing, and pupil assessments.
  • Acts as scribe and enters data into EMR or paper charts.
  • Administers topical ophthalmic or oral medications.
  • Oversees patient flow and ensures room cleanliness throughout the day.
