Job summary

PRISM Vision Group through Delaware Valley Retina Associates in Langhorne, PA, seeks an Ophthalmic Assistant to perform measurements and tests for diagnostic support. On-site role with occasional travel to other locations as needed.

Responsibilities include chart review, history taking, and performing OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry, and slit lamp exams. Scribe, administer medications, and ensure accurate documentation and patient education.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• OA1 Experience: 0-2 years ophthalmic assistant experience.
• OAII Experience: 2+ years ophthalmic assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Take ocular and systemic histories and record visual acuity.
• Perform tests per exam type, including OCT, automated visual fields, photography, pachymetry, and biometry.
• Conduct lensometry, refractometry, slit lamp exams with tonometry and anterior chamber angle assessment.
• Scribe during physician exams and document in EMR or paper charts.
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications.
• Assist with informed consent and patient education.
• Manage patient flow and maintain exam room cleanliness.
• Adhere to all procedures, regulations, and office policies.
• Maintain professionalism and positive attitude.
