Prism Vision Group is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant for the Retina Care Center in Hanover, PA. This onsite role involves conducting measurements and tests to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment planning, with thorough documentation and patient service.

Responsibilities include patient history taking, ocular testing, scribing, medication administration, and maintaining exam rooms while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Perform tests such as OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry as required by exam.
• Conduct lensometry, automated refractometry, slit lamp exam with tonometry and anterior chamber assessment.
• Act as scribe and enter data into EMR or paper charts.
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications.
• Assist with office procedures and informed consent.
• Aid patient education and oversee patient flow.
• Maintain clean and orderly exam rooms and comply with protocols.
