Job summary

You will conduct visual acuity testing, history taking, ocular measurements such as OCT and pachymetry, assist with procedures, and maintain orderly exam rooms while complying with regulations.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include HS/GED with higher education preferred.
• OA1 Experience: 0-2 years ophthalmic assistant experience; OAII 2+ years.
• Must be accurate, reliable, and able to document data clearly.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Take ocular/systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Perform testing such as OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry.
• Perform lensometry, refractometry, slit lamp exams and tonometry.
• Assist physician, scribe data into EMR, obtain informed consent.
• Administer topical or oral medications as directed.
• Maintain exam room cleanliness and manage patient flow.
