Job summary

Matossian Eye Associates in Doylestown, PA, part of Prism Vision Group, seeks an Ophthalmic Assistant to support physicians with tests and documentation.

This onsite role requires patient-focused service, accurate charting, and the ability to operate ophthalmic equipment such as OCT, visual fields, photography, and tonometry. Travel to other Prism sites may be required.

Experience level varies; strong communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or GED. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• OA1 Experience: 0-2 years ophthalmic assistant experience.
• OAII Experience: 2+ years ophthalmic assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Takes ocular and systemic history and records visual acuity.
• Performs tests such as OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry.
• Performs lensometry, automated refractometry, slit lamp exam and tonometry.
• Acts as scribe entering data into EMR or paper charts.
• Administers topical ophthalmic or oral medications and assists with consent.
• Assists with patient education and oversees patient flow.
• Maintains exam room cleanliness and adheres to procedures and regulations.
