Job summary

UVM Medical Center is seeking an Operations Support Specialist who serves as a lead in coordinating activities and delivering high-quality patient experiences. The role supports the practice supervisor with staff training, problem resolution, and performance evaluations of clerical staff.

Ideal candidates will have an Associate’s Degree in Business or related field and 2–3 years of healthcare experience, with a focus on teamwork and improving processes to meet performance expectations.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of experience in a healthcare setting
• An Associate’s Degree in Business or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
• Strong customer service orientation and leadership skills to support clinical staff

Job Description

The Operations Support Specialist is a lead position and an integral part of the patient experience. The Operations Support Specialist is a key contributor to delivering high quality customer service to our patients and visitors. Acts as a lead by assisting the practice supervisor in coordinating work activities, resolving problems, training, orientation and performance evaluations of clerical support staff. Makes suggestions for process improvements in support of achieving the established Medical Group performance expectations. Incumbent provides leadership in the absence of the practice supervisor.

Education

An Associate’s Degree in Business or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.

Experience

Two to three years experience in a relevant healthcare setting.
