Job summary

ABF Freight is seeking a Supervisor, Operations I to oversee the daily operations of a Service Center, ensuring work follows company procedures, standards, and safety requirements.

You will supervise Service Center employees, coordinate loading and unloading, manage resources, and foster a culture of safety, productivity, and teamwork in indoor and outdoor settings.

This is a salary position with biweekly pay and variable compensation, offering competitive wages and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills required.
• 2 years leadership experience preferred.
• General computer knowledge preferred.
• General knowledge of freight, transportation regulations, safety standards, and proper freight handling techniques preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control resources for loading/unloading with emphasis on safety and efficiency.
• Communicate assignments and monitor performance with clear direction.
• Maintain load plans and balance for safe vehicle operation.
• Assign tasks per unloading/loading schedules.
• Provide training, feedback, and disciplinary recommendations as needed.
• Foster relationships with partners to meet service standards.
• Ensure a clean, safe working environment for personnel and visitors.
• Promote safe handling of hazardous materials.
• Work in a team to meet department goals.
