Job summary

ABF Freight, an ArcBest company, seeks a Supervisor, Operations I to oversee daily Service Center activities, ensuring adherence to procedures, safety standards, and labor agreements. The role requires hands-on leadership to optimize efficiency, supervise loading/unloading tasks, and foster a culture of safety while performing in varied weather conditions.

Responsibilities include planning resources, directing assignments, training staff, and maintaining load balance.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills required.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently and manage time and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control resources for loading/unloading of freight on shifts.
• Communicate job assignments and monitor performance with employees.
• Maintain load plans and ensure proper load balance for safe vehicle operation.
• Assign tasks to workers according to unloading and loading schedules.
• Provide training, performance feedback, and disciplinary recommendations as needed.
• Build relationships with business partners to meet service standards.
