Job summary

FedEx Group is seeking a frontline Operations Supervisor in Kentucky to supervise a staff of Package Handlers and support the Safety Above All Culture. You will manage daily sortation operations and ensure compliance with FedEx policies and governmental regulations.

Responsibilities include hiring and coaching, planning workloads, monitoring performance, and training new employees on quality, safety, and dock procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• In lieu of experience, certification program or Associate's Degree in related area or 2+ years of college courses towards a degree
• Bachelor's Degree (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Champion FedEx's Safety Above All Culture and support related initiatives.
• Manage hiring, terminations, coaching, training, recognition and rewards, performance evaluation and management, discipline, and staff productivity.
• Plan, organize, staff, direct and control day-to-day operations.
• Assign and manage employees to ensure safe and efficient sortation of packages; manage trailers with the linehaul department as applicable.
• Analyze operational performance; interpret reports; develop and execute improvement plans.
• Lead daily meetings to communicate updates and goals; speak to groups of various sizes.
• Develop and administer company employee relations strategies and safety programs.
• Investigate, resolve or escalate customer service issues as appropriate.
• Train new employees on duties and FXG policies; include quality assurance, SWAK, hazardous materials, VEDR coaching, and dock safety.
• Mentor and develop critical skill sets for new or less-experienced supervisors.
• Adapt to change with urgency while engaging employees professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
