Job summary

• Conduct pre-donation medical screening according to established guidelines
• Determine Hematocrit (HCT) and protein via finger stick using a hematastat and refractometer
• Promote customer satisfaction through appropriate interaction and responsiveness
• Assess donor suitability and perform set-up, monitoring, and disconnect procedures for the plasmapheresis machine and donors
• Provide feedback to ineligible donor candidates
• Ensure donor screening information is complete and accurate before donation
• Maintain donor confidentiality
• Communicate donor medical information to Medical Staff
• Establish and maintain organized donor files
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area and necessary supplies
• Dispose of contaminated disposable equipment
• Build rapport with donors to support long-term donation
• Perform administrative duties, including greeting donors, answering phones, and assisting center management
• Maintain familiarity and compliance with state and federal regulations, FDA-approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and company procedures
• Maintain sanitation and clean equipment and work areas between donors
• Cross-train and work in other areas to ensure efficient center operations

Requirements

• Ability to work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical office and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold below 32 degrees F
• Ability to use required personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold gear
• Ability to sit or stand for the entire shift, bend, twist the neck and waist, and perform frequent hand and foot movements
• Ability to make precise coordinated finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects
• Ability to lift 15 lbs. routinely and up to 50 lbs. maximum
• Hearing acuity essential; correctable near and far vision and color perception/discrimination required
