Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Management Assistant to support store operations, focusing on hiring, onboarding, and orientation for applicants and new associates. You will also handle paperwork, cash handling, and system updates while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will join the Business Operations team, assisting with sales, auction, and appraisal functions and mentoring new associates as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data for records.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheets; intermediate PC skills.
• Effective communication with customers and associates in person, by phone, and in writing.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
• Maintain confidentiality of records and reports within scope of position.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate hiring and onboarding processes, including scheduling interviews and managing applicant records in Workday.
• Facilitate new associate orientation and ensure timely completion of documentation and training.
• Provide customer service by greeting customers and assisting with paperwork.
• Process sales and auction paperwork, including DMV documentation and dealer registration.
• Handle cash management tasks, including deposits and multiple payment types.
• Support Business Office operations and mentor new associates as needed.
• Follow EH&S requirements and maintain a clean work area.
