Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Business Operations Associate to support store operations by processing sales, auctions and appraisals, while delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining accuracy in documentation.

You will handle cash, audits, and paperwork, train new associates, and work across departments in a fast-paced team environment, contributing to CarMax’s transparent and high-integrity service.

Qualifications

• Read, interpret, and record data accurately for compliance and reporting.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry systems with intermediate PC skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication for customers and teams.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Commitment to confidentiality and CarMax policies.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers and guiding them through paperwork.
• Process and audit paperwork for retail and wholesale sales, including finance contracts and DMV docs.
• Manage auction and appraisal transactions with accurate titles and funding documentation.
• Handle cash management tasks, deposits, and security procedures.
• Train and mentor new associates and support multiple departments as needed.
• Perform clerical duties and ensure data accuracy and reconciliation.
• Follow EH&S requirements and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
