Job description

• Oversee the strategic direction, operation, compliance, and financial results for a designated operation


• Serve as primary customer interface for leadership decisions regarding proposal approval and contract negotiations


• Champion local continuous improvement activities, LEAN practices, supply chain analysis, Six Sigma initiatives, and ISO activities


• Develop marketing plans and assist in growing new business


• Ensure operations adhere to corporate mission, vision, and core values while meeting client and company expectations


• Oversee manpower, recruiting, retention, and development of personnel


• Ensure procedures support client service, productivity, and facilities/equipment maintenance


• Set goals for continuous improvement at assigned sites


• Oversee safety and security of assigned operations and staff


• Support and oversee site safety programs and committees


• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other relevant regulatory standards


• Develop teams, train and educate management, and support mentoring, succession planning, and management development


• Develop automation/technology plans and capital requests; monitor WMS technology trends


• Partner with senior leadership on annual operating budgets


• Manage controls for service levels, operational performance, costs, revenue, and profit


• Ensure accounts achieve predetermined profit standards


• Champion client relationship management and implement operational KPIs


• Coordinate and lead business reviews with client and company representatives


• Participate in local trade, professional, and civic associations


• Supervise Operations Managers, Supervisors, and other assigned leadership roles


• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required


• Budgeting and P&L management experience required


• At least 3 years of experience in an operations management related position


• Basic understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)


• Strong proficiency in basic MS Office applications


• English (reading, writing, verbal)


• Advanced level expertise in accounting and financial mathematical applications related to managing a P&L and preparing site/operational budgets


• Ability to develop effective relationships (CRM), provide leadership, and integrate diverse organizations and individuals toward unifying objectives


• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds


• Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, reach, and climb


• Must be able to stand for several hours per day


• Must be able to travel by plane and/or automobile


• 4-Year College Degree preferred; will consider equivalent experience or combination of education and experience


• Prefer 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in a logistics/distribution/supply chain environment in an operations management capacity


• Varied industry vertical experience is preferred


• 3PL management experience strongly preferred
