Job summary

Beacon Mobility in Hudson, MA is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee all operational aspects of a multi-service, fast-paced environment. You will manage 50+ drivers, 49+ daily routes, 60+ vehicles, and lead Transportation Coordinators and Trainers.

You will hire, train, and develop staff, partner with school districts, and maintain a safety-first culture while ensuring accurate monthly billing and payroll. This is an on-site role at our Hudson, MA office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in operations management, business administration, or related field.
• Progressive experience in a fast-paced work environment.
• Management of hourly staff and responsibility for metrics.
• Proficient experience in the use of Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated leadership and conflict resolution skills.
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact to school districts and maintain collaborative relationships.
• Communicate effectively with staff to ensure resources are available for daily tasks.
• Partner with safety leaders to uphold a safety-first culture.
• Regularly review key operational metrics (daily, weekly, monthly).
• Interview, hire, and train transportation coordinators/supervisors.
• Identify and cultivate internal talent for future positions.
• Prepare monthly work schedules and maintain staffing levels.
• Ensure certifications, training, and licensing are up to date for all staff.
• Coordinate with fleet maintenance to keep vehicles operational and safe.
• Review and prepare billing and payroll each month.

About The Role

• Serve as the primary contact to the school districts and ensure strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in the school districts.
• Effective and frequent communication with staff ensures employees have available resources to meet the daily operational task successfully.
• Partners with safety leaders to establish and maintain a ‘safety-first’ culture.
• Daily, weekly, and monthly review of key operational metrics.
• Interview, hire, and train new transportation coordinators/supervisors.
• Identify and cultivate a pipeline of internal talent for next-level positions.
• Prepare monthly work schedules.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels for drivers and monitors by driving a positive work culture.
• Ensure all employees have proper certifications, training, and licensing.
• Work with fleet maintenance to keep vans and buses operational and safe.
• Review and prepare billing and payroll each month.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in operations management, business administration, or related field.
• Progressive work experience in a work environment that is fast paced.
• Management of hourly staff, and responsible for managing metrics.
• Proficient experience in the use of Microsoft Office.
• Maintain a good driving record and enjoy working in an environment that is 100% committed to supporting our students.
• Self-motivated, show initiative and have a strong work ethic.
• Must be comfortable with early-morning hours.
• Exhibit strong leadership skills and can successfully supervise and direct teams.
• Effective customer service and conflict resolution skills.
• Must be detail-oriented and like solving problems.
• Maintain a very high standard of accuracy and confidentiality.
• Must show ‘grace under pressure during extremely busy times.
