Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks an Operations Management Trainee to support the shop management process and drive cost savings, customer retention, and metric-based initiatives. This role collaborates across Operations, Asset Management, Sales, Quality, and Rental to optimize performance.

The trainee will coordinate with Rental and Maintenance to maximize utilization, oversee PM scheduling, manage costs, and contribute to cross-department projects that improve customer satisfaction and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 1 year or more in customer service with issue resolution experience preferred.
• Strong PC knowledge including spreadsheet and word processing.
• Basic understanding of Business Finance, controls and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer interface, proactive customer management, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with the rental department to maximize utilization without compromising lease customers.
• Partner with Sales staff on customer calls for new business and increased customer satisfaction.
• Manage running costs and maintenance overheads; ensure policy and processes are followed to optimize running costs.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Asset Management, Sales and Marketing to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Oversee PM scheduling and follow up, breakdowns and vehicle status updates; manage technician work planning.
