Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking Management Trainees to gain hands-on training across service center operations, from logistics to team leadership. The program includes mentorship, CDL training, and opportunities to advance within a thriving, fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, efficiency and service, with rotations across shifts and departments, and potential relocation after completion of training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Good working knowledge of WORD/EXCEL; AS400 background helpful.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Solid work history and professional appearance.
• Willing to relocate after trainee program.

Responsibilities

• Complete shift manager training as understudy with an experienced manager or supervisor.
• Trainees will complete forklift training and production exercises on all jobs within the service center.
• Participate in ODTDT program to obtain CDL license.
• Fill in as supervisor on various shifts and departments.
• Develop new indicators and update procedures.
• Work in AS400 and Workday to update payroll and employee records.
• Writes and submits monthly activity reports.
• Assigns work to employees according to daily schedule.
• Travel approximately 15% to other service centers to learn operations.
