Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is recruiting Management Trainees to gain hands-on training across service center operations, from logistics to team leadership. You’ll be mentored by industry experts with the potential to earn a CDL and progress into supervisory roles.

The program emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency while offering exposure to AS400 and Workday systems, and occasional travel to other centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Proficiency with Word/Excel; AS400 experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Complete shift manager’s training as an understudy with an experienced manager.
• Trainees will complete forklift training and production exercises on all service center jobs.
• Fill in as a supervisor on various shifts and departments.
• Maintain safety, quality, efficiency, and service standards.
• Inspects tools and equipment for safe operation and corrects issues.
• Travel ~15% to other centers to learn operations and supervise in different environments.
